City’s restaurants, pubs and bars set to reopen outdoors

- KATIE BELLIS REPORTER katie.bellis@walesonline.co.uk

WE are hopefully only a few weeks away before being able to have a pint served in a glass and a meal at a pub or restaurant outdoors in Wales.

A statement from the Welsh Government last week said there will be a further review on April 22 and has signalled further changes it intends to make at that stage if conditions allow.

From April 26 outdoor attractions and outdoor hospitality can re-open, including at cafes, pubs and restaurants.

Since the announcement, hospitality venues have been preparing to reopen, with some already taking bookings.

However, not every business will be able to reopen outdoors just yet and after May 17 consideration will be given to enable indoor hospitality to reopen “in advance of” the spring bank holiday on May 31.

Here’s a list of pubs and restaurants that we know of so far that are planning to reopen in Swansea.

MARCO PIERRE WHITE STEAKHOUSE, BAR & GRILL

The venue, which only opened last year, is reopening outdoors.

Walk-ins will be accepted but they are encouraging people to book online. A £5 per person deposit is also required to prevent noshows.

Writing on Facebook, the steakhouse restaurant said: “We’re so excited to be reopening and welcoming you back on April 26, for our al fresco dining, incredible cocktails and of course, recapturing and enjoying those muchmissed moments. Walkins will be accepted but book now to avoid disappointment and we’ll see you very soon.”
