City has Wales’ highest case rate

-

SWANSEA currently has the highest case rate in Wales at 44.1 per 100,000, but all of Wales’ local authorities are now reporting less than 50 cases for the seven days up to April 1.

According to Public Health Wales, the reported number of cases includes the 48-hour period up to 9am on Easter Monday, which explains why the case numbers are higher than anticipated. The infection rate across Wales has dropped once again and is now 24.8 per 100,000 people.

The latest figures in Swansea, which is down from 49, show 14 areas of the city have “low numbers” of infections with two or fewer cases detected over seven days.

This data shows a breakdown of different parts of the city.
