SWANSEA City star Ben Cabango has been sent home from the squad’s training bubble after police were called to an alleged party at his home.

SWANSEA City star Ben Cabango has been sent home from the squad’s training bubble after police were called to an alleged party at his home.

The Wales defender will now miss the Swans’ clash with Sheffield Wednesday tonight after the breach of Covid-19 regulations.

A letter of complaint sent to the club by a local resident, and seen by Walesonline, claims the Swansea defender held a social gathering at his Sketty home on Saturday, hours after the Swans’ 3-0 win over Millwall.

It alleges “partygoers” were caught on camera urinating outside the home of a neighbour, while noise from cars driving around the private estate kept locals awake into the early hours.

Police were called in response to reports of a disturbance but say no further action was taken.

A spokesperson for South Wales Police told Walesonline: “South Wales Police responded to a report of a disturbance on Awel-y-mor, Swansea, at approximately 11pm on Saturday, April 10.

“Upon arrival a number of individuals were spoken to and stop-searched by officers. No offences were identified and no further action was taken.”

The Wales international didn’t feature in the trip to south London, and has featured in just one of Swansea’s last six games.

It’s understood he will not face any formal disciplinary action, but will be reminded of his responsibilities as a Swansea City player.

As well as sitting out tonight’s clash in Sheffield, there are also some question marks over whether he will be available for Saturday’s game with Wycombe Wanderers due to the Covid protocols in place.

In a statement, Swansea City said: “The club is aware of an incident involving a first-team player that occurred over the weekend.

“The player in question has been sent home from the training bubble and as a result will not feature in Tuesday’s game against Sheffield Wednesday.

“We work closely with Public Health Wales and have a strict set of Covid19 protocols within the club and we have made these abundantly clear to all players and staff.

“It is disappointing that these protocols have been breached, and as a club we expect all personnel to adhere to such guidelines in a manner that is indicative of the huge sacrifices made by so many.

“The club will now conclude the matter internally.”
