How they rated

FREDDIE WOODMAN

Solid enough in the first half as Derby struggled to threaten. Nothing he could do about the goal and made a fine stop to deny Colin Kazimrichards. The proud owner of the Championship’s Golden Glove award for the 2020-21 campaign.

CONNOR ROBERTS

Made some important tackles in what was a solid defensive showing in the first half. Beaten by Tom Lawrence to a header for the Derby goal but produced a stunning volley to put Swansea ahead. His fifth goal of the season.

RYAN BENNETT

Another good shift from the centre-back alongside Cabango. Bennett used his experience well on numerous occasions, making several interceptions and tackles.

JAKE BIDWELL

Far too sloppy on the ball in the first half and offered precious little going forward. Overran in the second half and was subbed.

KOREY SMITH

No-nonsense, does-what-it-says-on-the-tin kind of display from the central midfielder.

YAN DHANDA

Very quiet in the first half as he failed to make an impression on the game. Great ball in the build-up to Whittaker’s goal, though, and he was far more involved late on.

MATT GRIMES

Some really good defensive interventions and won plenty of aerial duels. Fairly timid going forward, but solid enough.

MORGAN WHITTAKER

Starting against his former club, Whittaker spurned a fine chance to strike early on and found it generally frustrating. However, his flicked header got Swansea back on level terms. Subbed.

LIAM CULLEN

Really good battling display from the forward, although he had precious little in front of goal until having a shot blocked in the second half. Some really good moments in his own box.

JAMAL LOWE

Tried to cause problems but didn’t manage to threaten in the first half. Work rate was good, though, and he did some decent defensive work when needed. Thought he’d score but was denied by the offside flag. Subbed.

STAR MAN: BEN CABANGO

Vital sliding challenge to thwart Colin Kazim-richards in the first half and looked assured at the back. Got an assist for Morgan Whittaker after the restart. Very good display from the Wales international.
