Infection rate falls again

TEN more people have died with coronaviru­s in Wales – but the sevenday infection rate has again fallen.

New figures from Public Health Wales published yesterday also shows there were 2,210 new positive cases.

The latest seven-day infection rate across Wales now stands at 548.2 – a sixth consecutiv­e day where rates have fallen.

The areas of the country recording the highest numbers of Covid cases in the latest 24-hour period were Cardiff with 348, Caerphilly with 203 and Vale of Glamorgan with 164. Carmarthen­shire had 110, Powys had 98 new cases, Swansea had 88 and Neath Port Talbot had 80.

Infection rate for every 100,000 people in each area for the seven days up to October 25:
