Bont boys roar to win

PONTARDDUL­AIS Workmen’s swept to a 7-0 win over Burry Port Reading Room in division one of the Llanelli Snooker League.

Keri Davies, Adam Griffiths, Steve Davies, Chris Marston, Kevin Sullivan and Mike Footman all won their frames.

Upper Tumble Blues dropped just the single frame to Gorseinon Workmen’s Keith Murrells when winning 6-1 at Brighton Road. The win came courtesy of Nicky Walters, James Bradley, E. Rees, Joe Evans and Mark Hughes.

Ponthenri Social were 5-2 winners at Llanesco thanks to the efforts of Stephen Rees, Howard Thomas, Nigel Lewis and Jeff Howells.

There was also a 5-2 success for Matchroom Reds on their trip to

Snooker World Whites, where Lewis Grey, Justin Thomas, Richard Evans and Brian Newcombe were on the ball.

A. Krysa and B. Thomas replied for the Whites.

Pontyberem Workmen’s, for whom Kev Selwood, Shaun Caton, Craig Rees and Paul Rees struck, won 4-3 at Llandybie Social A. For the home side, Huw Morgan and K. Evans helped secure the aggregate point.

Scott Ashford and G. Davies helped Morfa Social nick the extra point in a 4-3 loss at Trimsaran, whose frame-winners were M. Foreman, C. Foreman, K. Proctor and M. Lloyd.

H. Jones, M. Sargent, M. Rees and P. Evans gave Llanelli Cons A a 5-2 victory against Burry Port Legion, for whom Rob Davies and James White were on top.

Tom Twigg, Wayne Bowen, Neil Davies and Dai Keenan earned Matchroom Whites a 5-2 win at Cross Hands B.

For the hosts, Alex Dickie and M. Jones were frame-winners.

In division two, the Gremlin Club earned an impressive 7-0 whitewash win against visiting Cross Hands A.

Roy Barney, Bernard Price, Lee Collins, Kevin Gronow (30 break), Martin Dagnel and captain Jason Edwards (25) were all on top.

It was closer at Upper Tumble Reds, where visitors Pontarddul­ais Cons B edged a 4-3 win courtesy of Mark Aberstraw, Will Shadrach and Hugh Williams.

Martin Davies, Mike Sainty and

Kevin Evans replied for the Reds.

Sion Isaac was Llandybie RFC’S solitary frame-winner in a 6-1 reversal against CGMD.

For the Glanaman cuemen, Wyn Llewelyn, James Varney, Alun Rees, Matthew Jones and Jack Evans all won.

In their local derby clash, Bryn B earned the bragging rights with a 6-1 win against Bryn A. Luke Powell, Luke Williams, Ellis Anderson, Jason Frater and Kurtis Myhill all won, with only J. Townsend preventing a whitewash.

Steve Pearson and Howard Wood (33) were on form for Llandybie Social B, who were beaten 4-3 at Reading Room Reds.

For the Burry Port side, Phil Payne, S. Gower, J. Dean and C. Hurley posted frame wins.
