JENNIFER Melly has never been afraid of doing things differently. When she established her own solicitor’s firm - Jennifer Melly Law a decade ago, it was extremely rare for anyone to go it alone.

But as the firm that bears her name prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary, it is clear that it has gone from strength to strength by following through on Jennifer’s commitment to provide a service that goes beyond clients’ legal requirements.

The Neath-based firm has had the privilege of helping clients with their legal affairs for the last decade. In that time, the firm’s reputation for delivering a personal and highly professional service has ensured that generations of families continue to use and recommend them.

Following the firm’s success in Neath, Jennifer opened another office in Cardiff five years ago which allows Jennifer Melly Law to provide legal services to clients stretching from West Wales to Cardiff and beyond.

“Our success can be attributed to Jennifer’s drive to provide the highest quality legal services for our clients,” explained Nia Evans of Jennifer Melly Law.

“Jennifer’s focus on the area of private client law has given us an advantage over other high street law firms that offer a more generalised approach to their legal services. We offer a bespoke service that is very much client-led and the vast majority of our work comes from returning clients, and word of mouth recommendations, which is a testament to Jennifer’s reputation.”

Providing a wide range of services across the legal sphere - including

Wills, Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection, Trusts and Estates, Long Term Care Planning, Property Transactions and Tax Advice - Jennifer Melly Law has built a strong reputation for putting the client first and providing support throughout what can be very difficult and sensitive matters.

“Some of our clients are extremely vulnerable and we are often instructed in very emotive matters but we take pride in our professionalism, understanding and compassion in supporting clients through these difficult times,” said Kate Thomas, solicitor.

“How our clients are looked after by all of our staff is incredibly important and is what sets us apart in terms of client care and satisfaction.”

Under Jennifer’s stewardship, the firm has extended this care to the wider community, engaging in a number of endeavours that aim to give back and have raised significant sums of money for good causes.

One such endeavour involves working in partnership with Cancer Research UK. Jennifer Melly Law offers a free Will-writing service with the majority of those clients taking part in the scheme pledging a donation to Cancer Research UK in their Will, so far raising over £400,000 for the charity.

In addition to this, Jennifer Melly Law undertakes fundraising activities each year for local charities and good causes. The firm has held auctions in which members of the community and local businesses are invited to take part in aid of local good causes. Over the last 10 years, Jennifer Melly Law has raised in excess of £50,000 through these events.

Jennifer also believes strongly in encouraging the next generation interested in pursuing a career in Law, and in partnership with Neath College, sponsors the A-level results in Law each year, putting on an awards ceremony for the pupils that achieve the best grades.

On the impressive achievement, Jennifer said: “As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, I am extremely proud of how far the firm has come and how its success has been built on the personal recommendations and referrals of our clients.”

“I know that we would not be celebrating this milestone without our clients and I thank them for their trust in us over the last decade.”

“As a firm, we look forward to the future and continuing to provide an efficient and friendly service for many years to come.”

The local community and client base have also moved to acknowledge the firm’s achievement.

Dylan of Cambrian & Co Limited said: “We are proud to have worked with Jennifer Melly Law for the past 10 years, and would like to take the opportunity to congratulate the company and the staff for all they have achieved during that time.”

“The level of professionalism, service and dedication is second to none. Wishing you all continued success in the future!”

RCL Computers’ Robert Lee said: “RCL Computers have worked with Jennifer Melly Law for the past 10 years ever since the law practice

started and have found them to be very reliable, professional and always friendly and helpful.”

“Congratulations on 10 successful years and very best wishes for the future.”
