11 areas have infection rates above 1,000

THERE are now 11 areas of Wales with Covid infection rates of more than 1,000 cases per 100,000 people – a rise of nine from the start of the week.

This data provides the numbers for areas with an average of 7,000 people, called middle super output areas (MSOA). In practice this means there are statistics for areas like Morriston in Swansea or Canton in Cardiff.
