Walters the last-gasp hero as Llantwit hit the summit

LLANTWIT Major marched back to the top of JD Cymru South thanks to a 4-3 win at Briton Ferry Llansawel.

Their star striker Tom Walters sealed victory as he fired home a 30-yard free kick to clinch the points after they had trailed 2-0.

After Tyler Brock and Alex Gammond had given Briton Ferry a dream start, the fightback was started by Walters 10 minutes after he missed a penalty.

Brock made it 3-1 and then Lee Jones scored just before the break to claw it back to 3-2.

Josh Jones levelled the scores just after the hour mark before Walters notched up the winner in the 90th minute with his wonder strike around the defensive wall.

Pontypridd Town lost their unbeaten record and their grip on top spot as they crashed to a 3-2 defeat at Afan Lido. It was a day when everything went horribly wrong for the visitors.

They missed a penalty lost a two-goal lead and ended the game with nine players.

Gavin Beddard gave them a 1-0 interval lead and a Steve Morris own goal three minutes into the second half made it look as though the league leaders were going to walk it.

Then they lost David Vincent to a straight red and Jordan Edwards stepped up to hammer home the first of his penalty hat-trick. The second came in the 72nd minute and then he won the game in 79th.

Lee Baldock had a chance to level matters with the fourth penalty of the game, but missed. Then Oliver Dalton picked up a second yellow four minutes from time and they limped home two players down.

Unbeaten Guilsfield’s summer signing Greg Draper took the starring role against Airbus UK Broughton in JD Cymru North.

George Peers shot the Wingmen into a 28th-minute lead and Oliver Lanceley made it 2-0 to the home side seven minutes into the second half.

Things went from bad to worse for the visitors when they had Andrew Ford sent off.

Two goals down and a man short, it was time for a hero to step forward. With their 13-match unbeaten record hanging by a thread, up stepped Draper to score in the 70th minute.

With three minutes left he did it again to level things up.

Llandudno were 3-1 winners at Llangefni Town.
