Four-midable Challacomb­e guides impressive Brynawel up to third place

BRYNAWEL moved up to third place in division one of the David W Harris Solicitors Swansea Senior League after Gavin Challacomb­e netted four goals in a 6-0 win at Murton Rovers. Chakhri Phromchant­ha and Shaun Hurford also scored.

Rockspur Fords stay top after a 5-0 win away to Port Tennant Colts. Josh Hopkins put them on their way after excellent work from Matthew Hughes and Ryan Trick. Sam Keefe doubled the advantage when he showed great composure from close range.

Matthew Hughes and Connor Troy took it to 4-0 before Christian Keefe found his brother Sam, who got his second of the day with a fine finish.

Sandfields, now playing at Paradise Park, were 6-0 down to Ynystawe Athletic at half-time but gave a better display in the second half to lose 8-1. Sam Brown netted a hattrick but was sent off late on for dissent and will now miss the big showdown this Saturday when Ynystawe Athletic travel to Pryderi Park to play league leaders Rockspur Fords.

Daniel Abdie, Noah Osbourne, Richard Evans and Cai Owens (2) got the other Ynystawe goals, while James Figgures replied for the hosts.

St Joseph’s and Blaenymaes shared an entertaini­ng 2-2 draw at Mynydd Newydd. Liam Lynch and Jack Price netted for the hosts, who were undone by goals from Kieran Meredith and long-serving Blaenymaes midfielder Dean Norwood.

In division two, unbeaten Birchgrove Colts maintained their promotion push with a 6-2 victory over Treboeth

United. Tom Blackburn helped himself to another four goals, and James Casey and Thomas Grey also netted for the hosts.

Clase Social came out on top 4-3 at Kingsbridg­e Colts in a thriller that saw them go 3-0 up thanks to Steve Hayward, Daniel Begley and a Gareth Phillips penalty before Kingsbridg­e galvanised themselves when Rabi Hadari scored on 50 minutes.

Hadari completed his hat-trick to seal what appeared a well-earned point for the hosts, but four minutes from time Josh Williams netted from close range to deny Kings their first league point of the season.

Landore went down 3-1 at home to Plough Colts. Chris Smith netted for the hosts but goals from Taylor Smith and Mason Davies (2) sealed a win for promotion hopefuls Plough.

Llangyfela­ch top division two thanks to a 5-2 win over Bonymaen Colts. Callum Boyce and Ben Scannell both scored for the third week running. Jacob Phillips and Kritian Savicvks were also on target.

Penclawdd surprised many with a 2-1 win over Ragged School that keeps them 10 points above the relegation places. Daniel Nurse and Ceiron Williams netted for the hosts.

Will Davies gave Ragged hope, and they would have earned a draw had Ben Israel not missed a late penalty.

In division three, Gors returned to winning ways with a 10-3 victory away to Cwm Albion. Jordan Williams (3), James Edwards, Jonathan Edwards, Matthew Hunter (2), Jason Huxtable and the returning Angelo

Amoruso (2) ensured that Gors are well placed for a promotion push.

In an even higher-scoring game, Maltsters Sports won 11-5 away to Cwmfelin Press thanks to goals from Ryan Norman (2), Aaron Pegler (2), Ricky Martin Owen (2), Richard Jenkins, Chris Maunder, Jack Duffy (2) and Sam Heatley. Callum Kershaw, Harley Thomas and Jack Kershaw were among Press’s scorers.

Liam Woods and Ben Dennis scored to avenge FC Bonymaen’s recent defeat by CRC Olympic to push the Eastsiders into second in the table thanks to a 2-0 win.

Wern had two hat-trick heroes in their 8-1 win at St Thomas Stars; Jordan Evans (4), James Hughes (3) and Kyle Owen were their scorers. Jordan Nash replied.
