Tom on fire as Seaside give Pengelli a surprise

STRIKER Tom Kathrens capped an outstandin­g display with a hat-trick for Seaside, who climbed off the foot of the premier division of the LTC Mobility Carmarthen­shire League and out of the relegation zone following a stunning 7-2 win at home to Pengelli United.

Ross Jones scored on his debut for Seaside, and there were also goals for Dai Hughes (penalty), Ben Honeybun and Nathan Lewis.

Pontlliw beat Loughor Rovers 4-1. Ben Higgins scored two, with Adam Scott and Lewis Gibbs also on target. Darren Burt replied.

There is no change at the top of division one as Felinfoel remain nine points clear of secondplac­ed Pwll Athletic after a 4-0 win at Llandeilo Town.

In extending their unbeaten record to 12 games, Theo Benjamin and Adrian Tucker scored two goals each for Foel.

Pwll Athletic were at home to Kidwelly Town and also won 4-0. Ian Williams netted twice, and there were goals for Darren Blake and Daniel Harding.

Just when it looked as if Llangennec­h might be heading for a shock defeat at home to lowly Bancffosfe­len, Alex Davies rescued a point for the hosts with a penalty in the 89th minute.

Also on target was Callum Morgan, and the game ended 2-2.

It was also honours even in the Gwendraeth Valley derby between Drefach and visiting Tumble United, which also finished 2-2.

Two goals by Jordan Thomas weren’t quite enough to secure maximum points, his efforts being cancelled out by Garin Morris and Aled Owens.

In division two, Caerbryn made ground advantage count against Ammanford Town A when winning 6-0.

Cameron Jones struck twice, and Jake Ashley Jones and Josh Edwards also netted.

Striker Stewart Hemingway fired in six goals for secondplac­ed West End United in their 10-3 win at home to KRUF.

Curtis Evans and James Doel added two each.

Trostre Sports AFC closed the gap on reserve division one leaders Loughor Rovers to two points without kicking a ball.

With visitors Gorseinon Athletic failing to raise a team, Trostre were awarded a 4-0 victory.
