Trostre win through to stadium final

-

TROSTRE AFC are through the final of the West Wales Intermediate Cup after beating fancied Swansea side Rockspur 2-1 in the first semi-final last Wednesday.

The Llanelli side made a dream start, Liam Jones shooting them into the lead inside the first 60 seconds. Jamie Jenkins made it 2-0 from a cross by Ashton Jones in the 60th minute.

Trostre won’t know who they face in the final at the Swansea. com Stadium until April 9, when Hakin United play Seven Sisters Onllwyn at Richmond Park, Carmarthen, in the second semi.

In the solitary game played in division one of the LTC Mobility Carmarthenshire League, Rhodri Noakes was the hero with the only goal for FC Carmarthen in a 1-0 win at neighbours Johnstown.

The victory lifts the visitors into third in the table.

Division two champions Caerbryn completed their league programme; with Hendy unable to raise a team, Caerbryn were awarded a 4-0 win.

In the one game that was played in the division, Elliot Jones was the star of the show with five goals for Dafen Reserves in a 10-1 win against Carmarthen United on their own ground.

Two goals by Kyle Bessant, plus one each from Jamie Phillips, Alex Goddard and Sam Evans, rounded off the scoring.

There was plenty of action in the Senior Cup, and Felinfoel have made the best possible start in Group C. A couple of goals from Theo Benjamin helped Foel keep their 100 per cent record intact with a thrilling 4-3 win at Killay. Also on target were Sam Ashford and Chris James.

After losing their first two games in Group D, Ammanford Town A got off the mark with a 1-0 win at home to Pembrey thanks to an Owen Davies goal.
