Seven days of luxury and adventure…
IMAGINE Cruising’s seven-night Exclusive France and Spain Sailcation offers a glamorous holiday on the Enchanted Princess, with appearances from Katherine Jenkins, Aled Jones and Collabro.
It’s not just the starstudded line-up that makes this a dreamy getaway, though – there are some beautiful destinations included too. Check out the itinerary below…
Day 1: Embark Enchanted Princess in Southampton
On the first day, you’ll join the Enchanted Princess, a cruise ship designed for a luxury experience, with exquisite restaurants and exciting activities. Get ready for a world-class voyage that includes vibrant entertainment venues with dazzling performances.
Day 2: Guernsey
Guernsey is the secondlargest of the Channel Islands and located just off the coast of Normandy. Here you’ll find beautiful beaches, Victorian forts and even some adventure sports for thrill-seekers. Other highlights you won’t want to miss include the historic Castle Cornet, which has stood guard over the capital, Saint Peter Port, for 800 years, as well as the beautiful Candie Gardens and La Vallette Underground Military Museum.
Day 3: Day at sea
Princess Cruises offers a host of destination-themed activities on board, with live performances and dance lessons, not to mention ample opportunity to sample local cuisines. There are also plenty of unique experiences, such stargazing sessions from the top deck.
Day 4: Bordeaux
A historic French city and the stuff of fairytales, Bordeaux is your next port of call. The area is famous for the fine wines that have been produced here for centuries, and you can learn more about these at the Cité du Vin museum. But make sure you spare plenty of time to visit the stunningly beautiful, Gothic Cathedrale Saintandre, and do some exploring around the magnificent Place de la Bourse.
Day 5: Bilbao
Tucked in a corner of northeast Spain – and the largest city in the Basque country – Bilbao has something for all intrepid explorers, thanks to its vibrant food, art and culture scenes. Wander through the Siete Calles – the seven streets that comprise the city’s old quarter – where you’ll find some enticing shops, plus plenty of bars and restaurants serving up pintxos (think tapas).
Day 6: La Coruña
La Coruña, on Spain’s northwest coast, is a city steeped in history: it’s known for the Tower of Hercules, dating back to Ancient Roman times – and, incidentally, the world’s oldest lighthouse. As well as excellent beaches, the city serves up some cultural treats, including Casa Museo Picasso, the recreated house in which the artist lived aged 13. You could also stroll along the promenade, which passes many of the city’s sights and is one of Europe’s longest.
Day 7: Day at sea
Princess Cruises is famed for offering up some brilliant dining at sea. Onboard chefs cook some of their favourite dishes from home, as well as delectable cuisine they’ve discovered through their travels – from seafood to Indian specialities and other international dishes. You can expect plenty of food inspired by your ports of call too – after all, there’s no better way to experience a place than through its food.
