Blues outplayed as Cons roar to whitewash

LLANELLI Cons A enjoyed a whitewash 7-0 victory against Burry Port Reading Room Blues in the first division of the Llanelli Snooker League.

Mark Sargent, Hefyn Jones, Keith Moore, Paul Evans, Mike Moore and Mike Rees were all victorious.

It was far closer at Upper Tumble Blues, where the home side edged a 4-3 win against Burry Port Legion courtesy of Joe Evans, Chris Bishop and Nicki Walters. Keri Phillips, James White and Garnet Lane replied.

It also needed the aggregate for Morfa to nick a 4-3 win at Matchroom Whites thanks to Rob Hughes, Andrew Hatto and Nicky Hughes. Leighton Davies, Dai Keenan and Tyler Rees were on top for the Gwyns.

Matchroom Reds won 5-2 against Pontyberem Workmen’s after Phil Williams, Richard Evans, Lewis Grey and Jay Davies won their frames. Alun Harris and Damien Lonergan replied.

Llanesco earned a 4-3 win at Snooker World thanks to Mark Stevenson, Dale Bohn and Chris Lloyd. Anthony Krysa made a superb 91 break for the Ammanford side, for whom D. Jones and A. Whitfield also won.

Jordan Davies’s frame win prevented a whitewash for Gorseinon Workmen’s, beaten 6-1 by Trimsaran. For the visitors, Lewis Lloyd, Wayne Thomas, Alan Emmanuel, Kieran Proctor and Lee Holland all won.

Keri Davies, Kevin Sullivan, Mike Footman and Chris Griffiths gave Pontarddul­ais Workmen’s a 5-2 success against Ponthenri Social, whose winning duo were Kevin Lewis and Stephen Rees.

Rob Davies, Garnet Lane and Rich Nurse gave Burry Port Legion a narrow 4-3 victory at Matchroom Reds, whose winning trio were Phil Williams, Brian Newcombe and Richard Evans.

In division two, Bryn & Trallwm B were 4-3 winners against Cross Hands A courtesy of Luke Powell, Aaron Cruickshan­k, Kris Williams and Kurtis Myhill. Scott Bundfuss and Elwyn Williams helped the visitors earn the aggregate point.

Phil Payne and Christian Evans won for Reading Room Reds in a 5-2 loss to Matchroom Blacks. For the latter, Rhys Morgan, Ryan Maides, Shane Williams and Thomas Williams all won.

Gremlin Club beat a man-short CGMD 7-0. Ryan Burt, Ray Barney, Kevin Gronow, Gav Stollery and Jason Edwards were all on top.

Leighton Cole and George Langford helped New Lodge to a 4-3 victory against another man-short side in Snooker World Blues, whose frame-winners were Peter Howatson, Callum Fuge and Steff Rees.

Martyn Tucker, Rhydian Fox and Gary Williams were New Lodge winners in a 4-3 reverse at the hands of Pontarddul­ais Cons. The Bont side’s points came from Keith Williams, David Gabe and Will Shadrach.

In the cup, Morfa progressed with a 4-0 passage against Trimsaran. Rob Hughes, Scott Ashford and Andrew Hatto were among the winners.
