BRILLIANT BRAD BAGS THIRD TON

BRAD Wadlan’s astonishin­g summer continued as he cracked his third century in a row in Swansea’s 131-run victory over Ammanford in the South Wale Premier Cricket League.

The Swansea skipper had reached three figures in wins against Cardiff and Bridgend Town, and he repeated the dose here as he smashed the Ammanford attack all over St Helen’s.

Wadlan’s 147 came off just 103 balls and featured three sixes and 23 fours.

He shared an opening stand of 252 with Chris Gibson (82), while there was little respite for the visitors as Jake Roberts then went close to recording the fastest century in Premier League history.

He smashed eight sixes and seven fours in just 41 balls before falling to Kurtis Marsh for 96.

Swansea’s total of 425-4 is one of the highest in the league’s history.

Ammanford’s batsmen made a decent fist of their reply, with Xavier Clarke hitting 18 boundaries as he made an unbeaten 112 off just 81 balls. Opener Rhodri Huw Davies added 51 as the visitors closed on 294-3.

St Fagans also made it three out of three as they beat visitors Clydach by 187 runs.

Thomas Bevan hit a run-a-ball 92 as the reigning champions made 313-6 in their 50 overs. Adam Keane added 53, Mika Ekstrom 45 and Owen Morgan 43.

Harry Donelan then took 3-9 as the Swansea Valley side were dismissed for just 126.

St Fagans host Swansea this coming weekend.

Liam Davies led Port Talbot Town to a comfortabl­e eight-wicket win at home to Cardiff. The opener made an unbeaten 79 as Port Talbot reached their victory target with almost seven overs in hand. Skipper Barney Huxtable added 46.

Cardiff were earlier dismissed for 185. Glamorgan’s Prem Sisodiya topscored with 41.

Callum Taylor was the star of the show as Newport beat Bridgend by six wickets.

Taylor took 4-36 as Bridgend were shot out for 173. Thomas Dalton topscored with 63.

Taylor then made a fluent 61 not out off just 64 balls as the hosts reached their target with almost 12 overs in hand. Opener Morgan Bevans made 58.

Sean Griffiths blasted a rapid 91 as Neath beat Pontarddul­ais by seven wickets.

Griffiths hit three sixes and 12 boundaries in his 62-ball innings as the visitors coasted home in just 40.1 overs.

Lukas Carey was the star of Bont’s innings as his 84 not out helped the hosts to 199-6.
