Work - and live - at hotel with ‘best office view in the world’
A HOTEL with stunning views of the Gower is offering people the opportunity to live there as well as work there.
The Worm’s Head Hotel in Rhossili is offering four live-in roles, along with various part-time jobs.
The sweetener comes as its managing director Adrian Short admitted that, as a result of the “change in landscape through Brexit” and the coronavirus pandemic, it is difficult to fill the vacancies.
Front of house roles are up for grabs including waiters, waitresses and restaurant supervisors along with kitchen porters. Accommodation will be provided with shared bathroom facilities. The positions would be on a three-month rolling contract with full-time hours and successful applicants must be prepared to work at weekends and during the week.
Some hospitality experience would be preferred, but on-the-job training can be provided. The wage is above minimum wage.
“It’s a good opportunity for people to live and work in a rural area with the opportunity to save quite a bit of money with the accommodation being provided,” said Mr Short.
“It is ideal for students who are coming to the end of their university year and wish to stay on. And it is probably the best office view in the world. We always have done it but what we tend to have found is we’ve had a lot of overseas students who have come on work experience over the years, but we’ve never particularly had much demand from Uk-based people.
“We’re now finding that, given the change in landscape following Brexit, with all the politics that has been going on, we’re tending to find we’re having to target specifically Uk-based people for jobs, but we’re finding there is not necessarily the demand that we thought there might be following the pandemic.
“It is something unusual for UK people rather than finding jobs elsewhere. We’re trying to put the idea out there, market it and advertise how the proposition could be attractive. The accommodation is an added sweetener, especially when you consider our location.”
