Trampoline centres hold fundraising days in memory of former staff member

-

TWO South Wales trampoline centres are holding special events to mark the life of a colleague who lost his fight with a rare cancer.

Lucien Seller, from Cardiff, had an exceptionally rare cancer known as thymic mucinous adenocarcinoma, and passed away aged 25 in May last year.

Now friends and colleagues at the Buzz Parks indoor trampoline venues in Llansamlet, Swansea, and Llanishen, Cardiff, are coming together to celebrate his life with two special Lucien’s Legacy events on Saturday, May 28, between 10am and 7pm.

Lucien worked at the Buzz Parks head office in Cardiff.

Buzz Parks will be donating 50% of all takings on the day to Cancer52, a charity that aims to improve outcomes for patients with rare cancers, which account for 55% of UK cancer deaths.

More research into cancers such as Lucien’s is needed, as there is currently no defined treatment for that type of cancer.

Buzz Parks general manager Paul Sheppard said: “Sadly, last year we lost our amazing colleague and friend Lucien to an exceptionally rare cancer.

“We will be celebrating Lucien’s Legacy in both our parks and would love for as many people to get involved as possible.

“On the day we will be fundraising with cake sales, a raffle, Tiktok incentives and more.”

He added: “How many of us can truly say we got to work with our best friend? All the chats, the laughs – Lucien was an asset to our team and an exceptional support to all those around him.

“Lucien’s quiet, understated professionalism made everyone else’s performance just that little bit better. He was committed and cared about the business and the people in it.

“But it was the way he touched people’s lives that means he will never be forgotten.”
