Freya gets home offers from around the world
OFFERS have been flooding in from all around the world to find a home for Freya - Britain’s loneliest dog.
The beautiful Staffordshire bull terrier cross has been desperately searching for new owners ever since she was taken to Freshfields Animal Rescue Centre in Ince Blundell - a heartbreaking SIX years ago.
Last Friday Freya was featured on the Visiter. co.uk website and on ITV’s Good Morning Britain in a determined bid to find her a loving home.
Lots of people have expressed an interest - but nothing definite so far.
Freshfields Animal Rescue Centre supporter Debs Hughes said: “We have had dozens of enquiries including offers of homes in Australia, America, Holland and Brazil!
“No stand-out candidates yet.”
So far, Freya has been overlooked by 18,000 potential new owners, but staff at Freshfields hope that this latest appeal will help her find the home she deserves.
Since coming to the shelter as a stray six years ago, Freya has been dubbed Britain’s loneliest dog, watching more than 50 of her kennel mates be re-homed in her time at the centre.
The staff at the animal rescue centre are hopeful that the live broadcast on Good Morning Britain will bring Freya the loving family she deserves.
Debs Hughes, a representative of the shelter, said: “We feel that there’s somebody out there for everybody. It’s like a dating site - it’s about the right person coming along.
“Freya is a beautiful dog with a beautiful personality, and that will shine through to the right person.”
