Hair salon ‘had no other option but to close’

-

A TOWN centre salon in Southport has closed its doors for good.

Toni & Guy, situated on the corner of Chapel Street and London Street, ceased trading yesterday and staff at the store say it will not reopen.

A member of store staff said: “We are all being transferred to the Preston branch, and existing clients will receive 30% off at the Preston branch too.

“We’re really sorry to all of our customers, it’s just down to a string of unfortunate events.

“We’re really sad to say we’re closed permanently.”

The store has been trading on Chapel Street for the past 18 years.

Bosses say they have been “forced to make this decision due to circumstances beyond our control and unfortunately we had no other option but to close.”

They added that this decision has not been made lightly and that the firm will do their utmost to find all remaining staff suitable positions at neighbouring salons.

Salon manager, James Leigh said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank our many clients over the past 18 years for their loyalty, and would like to offer them all, as a gesture of goodwill, a 30% discount on all hair services at Toni & Guy in Preston for the next six months.

“We would also like to thank all our staff for all their hard work and wish them all the best for the future.”

The news comes as the H&M on Chapel Street reopens – after being closed for almost three months.
