It’s a New Direction for flower show gala

-

AROUND 250 people attended this year’s Southport Flower Show Gala Dinner, sponsored by New Directions, Sefton’s leading social care provider.

The black-tie dinner - one of the highlights of the North West social calendar - is traditionally held in the Gala Marquee at Southport’s Victoria Park showground on the evening before the start of the four-day Show.

New Directions supported the dinner to raise awareness of the wide range of services for older Sefton residents, and other adults with disabilities, provided by its award-winning team of more than 400 staff.

Gala attendees were also given a sneak preview of this year’s New Directions’ Mediterranean-themed Flower Show with its imaginative Lost Gardens of Atlantis theme before Flower Show exhibits opened to the public.

New Directions Chief Operating Officer, Penny Fell, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be involved with Southport Flower Show as both a sponsor and exhibitor and hope to build on our success in 2016 when our Garden of the Blessed won a prestigious silver medal”.

She added: “It’s also a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of our services amongst the thousands of visitors who attend the event, and to highlight the excellent work that our staff are doing with some of the most vulnerable members of the Sefton community.”

New Directions was established in Sefton in 2007 as the first local authority social care trading company in the country. Nine years on, New Directions is at the forefront nationally of high quality social care provision.
