Fergus the Tractor is just one of the fun events for children
THERE are lots of things for children to enjoy at the 2016 Southport Air Show.
Why not pop in to the ‘ Your Air Show’ marquee, home for the weekend to Fergus the Tractor.
Children will be able to create their own flying creations, including aeroplanes and hot air balloons, with the ‘Creation Station’.
You can have your photo taken with aviation-related props, view the amazing Lego models and aviation artwork.
At the centre of the Air Show Village will be the team from the Lytham St Annes’ Spitfire Display Team.
At the heart of their display is the iconic Mark IX Spitfire BS435, in the colours of 611 Sqn RAF, which you will be able to climb on board and have your photo taken.
You can visit the Interactive RAF Dome – an interactive Information Computer Technology centre – where visitors can carry out a variety of interactive tasks designed to challenge anybody interested in joining the RAF as a technician.
Enjoy Water Walkers – walk, run, flip or roll in these inflatable water-walking balls without even getting wet, or, try out the Inflatable Assault Course. The whole family can have fun testing their skills.
The ‘Living Museum’ is a must. There will be people dressed up as soldiers and an array of army kit, such as webbing, helmets and bergan rucksacks.
You can try on the equipment and see what life was like in the trenches.
Head over to the assault course where you can go head to head and test your skills against your opponent!
Use the camouflage cream to really get into character whilst learning about the war.
The kids will have piles of fun in the mini tanks; they can drive them around the beach and, afterwards, head over to the military tanks.
The entire family can have fun together in the paintball range where you can see who has the best aim and who completely misses the target you have to shoot at.
Other attractions on the beach include bungee trampolines, land zorbs and jet simulators – if you have ever fancied yourself as a pilot make sure you give one of these a try and experience the next best thing.
