Take a picnic and get involved with the big street party

-

PEOPLE are urged to get involved with Ainsdale‘s big street party this weekend.

Those attending will be treated to performances from Revolution Dance, Southport Gymnastics and Police Support Officers.

Event organiser Sarah Love has planned an afternoon of live music, with plenty of local talent taking to the stage this Sunday (September 11).

They can also enjoy the sight of aircraft flying overhead, with the 2016 Southport Air Show also taking place over this weekend.

Sarah said: “The music line up is looking good, with harpists to harmonicas performing. People should bring their own tables and chairs along, with as much food and drink as they can consume.”

Other attractions at the picnic include, exhibits by local companies and groups.

Old school favourites such as the egg-andspoon race and tug-ofwar will also take place, so get ready to take part.

The Picnic on the Green is based upon an idea by Sarah Love, working with her partner, Martin Maynard. Sarah works with Glastonbury Festival as a steward coordinator so participants can be certain that a lot of her expertise is being brought to the green this Sunday.

The entirely free event is open to the public on Sunday, September 11, running from 2pm until 5pm.
