Ammies Awards Salute to stars who go that extra mile

TAKE a look at the amazing people who go above and beyond the call of duty in Southport’s shops, restaurants, bars and hotels.

Nearly 300 workers were nominated in this year’s Southport Ambassador Awards, giving judges the almost impossible task of creating the shortlist for the glittering awards ceremony.

Everyone on this list works hard to create a positive image of the business where they work and leave their customers going away with a smile – so today we salute them all.

Southport Ambassador Awards coorganiser and Southport Ramada Plaza Hotel manager Enda Rylands said: “We had an unprecedented number of votes cast this year which was amazing.

“However in addition to the huge volume of votes, what most impressed me was the amount of individuals nominated in the various categories.

“It really is a testament to the amazing people who work in the hospitality, retail and leisure industries that we had so many individuals nominated.

“In our industries we work tirelessly to ensure that our guests and customers receive the best possible service and to have so many people on this list is amazing and I think they should all be aware that their efforts have been recognised by their guests and customers.

“It is a shame that only three people can be shortlisted in each category and it was a really tough task to shortlist but alas it had to be done.

“Each and everyone on this list is a credit to themselves, their business and to Southport and deserves to know that they have been appreciated.”

The 2016 Southport Amabassador Awards ceremony and gala dinner takes place at Southport Theatre & Convention Centre on Thursday, November 3.
