Couple score with Reds’ sweet move
ASOUTHPORT pâtisserie has been selected to supply chocolates to Liverpool Football Club.
Chefs Robert Swindon and Francesca Falbo Sahonta teamed up to open The Macaron Lounge in Station Road, Ainsdale, in April, and the venture has gone from strength to strength.
The shop sold out of sweet ttreats on its first day of business.
All the chocolate, macarons, sweets and pâtisserie are made on site in Southport.
Francesca said: “From our little shop in Ainsdale, we are very happy now to supply directly Liverpool Football Club for their boardrooms with our elegant packages with chocolate and macarons.
“It started because Delifonseca in Liverpool asked for us to do the hampers first. Then we were contacted by LFC directly because they loved our products.
“We supply Strawberry Fields truffles as well as Lambs rum banana truffles and more, as well as luxurious hampers.
“It’s been a long process to finally get here, but LFC are enjoying our artisan products and Everton will soon follow!
“We have an Everton mint chocolate truffle for the Blues.”
The Macaron Lounge already supplies Southport’s Bold Hotel and Bistrot Verite.
Francesca is self-taught, while Robert is a highly experienced chocolatier who has worked in hotels all over the world.
Francesca said: “The support we have received from everyonee over the past six months is highlyy appreciated.
“So many people have popped in to enjoy our products and we received amazing feedback,k which we continue to take on board to constantly improve the business.”
