E-lending opens new chapter for libraries

-

SEFTON’S libraries have launched a new e-lending service which enables users to borrow e-books and e-audiobooks free of charge.

Working in partnership with the Borrowbox platform, Sefton’s Library service are now offering a variety of titles which can be downloaded to a mobile device or PC.

This means that Sefton’s library patrons can look forward to reading their favourite authors online, whether relaxing at home or on the move.

Getting started is quick and easy.

Users just need to download the Borrowbox app and then link to the library collection using their library membership number and PIN number.

Cllr Paul Cummins,Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care said: “It’s a great way to try out new authors and titles as you can reserve and return titles straight away.

“Settings can also be set to your preferences so you can read and listen at your own pace.

“With their free computer access and ‘Get Online’ sessions, Sefton’s libraries already offer a range of digital support to local communities, and the introduction of this new service will help to encourage more people to engage with new technology.”
