SOME 15 years ago I slipped in the street and broke my leg.

I received excellent care from the moment the ambulance picked me up until the time I left Southport Hospital with a replacemen­t hip.

Reading the devastatin­g report on health care in Southport I am not sure if I would receive the same care today.

REDUCING the hours of A&E at Southport Hospital would be dangerous. Where would emergencie­s go? All surroundin­g hospitals with A&E department­s are struggling to cope.

Aintree Hospital featured on North West Tonight because it was overwhelme­d.

Extra time taken to transfer patients to other A&E department­s could make the difference between life and death for serious emergencie­s.
