AUTHENTIC Irish pub Punch Tarmey’s opened in Southport at the weekend.

Punch Tarmey’s opened at 176 Lord Street after a total transformation by the owners of the Bold Hotel, Mikhail Hotels and Leisure Group.

The fixtures and fittings have been shipped over from Ireland to complete the authentic feel.

Many of the people who have been working on the refit have been from a Dublin-based design team who have spent several months working with Andrew Mikhail in Southport overseeing the renovations.

There is a boxing theme to the pub which is in honour of owner Andrew’s g r e a t - g r a n d f a t h e r, Michael Tarmey, who was a champion boxer in the early 1900s.

Visitors of the pub will feel as if they have been transported to the heart of Dublin with traditional Irish music and the merry atmosphere that is impossible to miss.

The craic you will experience with the bar staff is the most authentically Irish thing about Punch Tarmey’s and their professionalism and attitude will blow you away.

Punch Tarmey’s takes the best of old pub culture and blends it with the trends of today with an extensive cocktail and gin menu. They will be serving food daily between 12pm and 11pm.

Well known Irish band, Whiskey in the Jar, who have been entertaing auniences for 25 years p performed at the launch.
