THE Community Link Foundation has raised £80,000 for local good causes in the last year.

The announcement was made at the annual sponsors’ lunch.

Sponsors and supporters heard that £54,000 has been awarded to more than 200 organisations by the trustees of Community Link Foundation.

Enda Rylands, chairman of Community Link Foundation, said: “This really is an amazing amount of money to be raised locally and then awarded as grants.

“We are delighted that we have been able to help so many people in the area and we are so very grateful to everyone who has helped with the fundraising.

“They have really made a difference to people’s lives.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported the charity this year whether it’s through fundraising, or raising awareness – we are grateful to everyone for their support.”

Guests at the lunch at the Office Bar and Restaurant were given an update on the year’s activities by Enda.

This included an update on fundraising activities organised both by the Community Link Foundation and those organised by others on their behalf.

As well as sponsors, also attending the lunch were organisations and companies who have supported the efforts of Community Link Foundation by organising events, allowing access to their premises, or fundraising.

They also heard from representatives of Autism Initiatives and Southport Gymnastics Club who told of the benefits that they have seen, thanks to funding from Community Link Foundation.
