Fantastic panto will dazzle at Atkinson

-

ALL Souls Dramatic Club is back with its contemporary take on a classic story Sleeping Beauty at The Atkinson Theatre on Lord Street.

The last production of Peter Pan back in January received rave reviews with record breaking ticket sales and now, the club is preparing a spectacular family pantomime which promises to be a theatrical sensation.

The extremely excited cast is made up of males and females aging from 16 up to 84 who all have one thing in common, their love for performing in panto!

In recent years, All Souls Dramatic Club has evolved its pantomime style to be a modern family friendly spectacle which still maintains the elements of a traditional pantomime.

The script combines laugh out loud dialogue along with slapstick comedy intertwined with pop songs and big dance numbers, not forgetting a technical set up to really make the show dazzle!

Cliff Gillies, the pantomime director, has the unenviable task of bringing together a 40-strong cast, including junior dancers provided by Dance Flava, costumes, set, lighting, sound and special effects to produce a lavish production for the masses of Southport.

“Rehearsals are well underway and the cast are putting in a lot of hard work to get this show to the highest standard it can be,” said Cliff, “we can’t wait to get into the amazing theatre to put on a fantastic panto.”

Sleeping Beauty opens on Thursday January 12, and runs until January 22.

Tickets are selling very quickly with over half already sold. They are available from The Atkinson box office, starting from £10.

You can book by phone on 01704 533333, online on www.theatkinson.co. uk or visit the box office on Lord Street.
