Stage is set for a great start to the New Year
THE new year is just around the corner (yes, already!) and The Atkinson has your diary sorted from January right through to April.
You can be assured it will be filled with hilarious comedians, murder mysteries and music with tales of Hungry Caterpillars and Sharks in a Park!
There really is something for everyone.
The Atkinson has become an established music hub for Merseyside; there are big names on their way with the larger than life Popa Chubby (Saturday, January 28), Howard Jones (Wednesday, March 22), Lloyd Cole (Thursday, March 30) as well as the return of the annual Love Folk Festival in February.
Now in its third year – the Love Folk Festival is back and headlining the weekend will be Fairport Convention on the Friday night who will be celebrating 50 years and the fabulous English Folk genius Jon Boden for the Saturday night who is embarking on his first solo tour.
Tickets are available to buy now for the little festival with a big heart over the most romantic weekend of the year (Friday, February 10 – Saturday, February 11).
You’re invited to witness an unmissable evening with The Greatest Hits of Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy from Limehouse Lizzy, who are keeping the spirit of the Celtic rock icons alive, well and dominating stages worldwide (Thursday, April 27).
Chris Dean returns with The Syd Lawrence Orchestra for a golden night of swing (Saturday, April 29) celebrating 50 glorious years of being the UK’s most successful and longest running Big Band.
After the Christmas cheer has died down, there’s no better way to boost spirits than revelling in an evening of laughter.
The Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club returns with hosts of comedians on the first Saturday of every month and season tickets are now available to purchase, a perfect gift for anyone who loves a good laugh.
On top of the regular comedy club, there will be some well-known names of comedy.
Andrew Lawrence, as seen on Live at the Comedy Store and Live at The Apollo is bringing his new, five star comedy sketch ‘The Hate Speech Tour’ to Southport (Friday, February 24).
Rob Rouse (Friday, March 17) will be bringing trademark comedic storytelling to a career high for his new tour ‘Are You Sitting Comfortably?’.
A popular face at The Atkinson and for audiences, Henning Wehn returns with ‘Westphalia Is Not An Option’ (Friday, April 28).
The evening promises to be Teutonic jolliness at its best!
Having sold out twice previously we recommend early booking.
