-

SO, week two of Sleeping Beauty Panto diary and despite the weather outside, things are really hotting up!

All Souls Dramatic Club has more than 50 members ranged between 16-85 and have been performing pantomimes to the Southport community for around 60 years.

The current director is Cliff Gillies, a local award winning writer and director from Southport, who is going into his fifth year directing for the club.

Under Cliff’s direction, the club have gone from strength to strength and they are the proud holders of the National Operatic and Dramatic Association’s ‘Best Pantomime’ accolade for two years running.

We are currently in full swing for our next pantomime in January 2017 set to be a lavish and contemporary production of ‘Sleeping Beauty.’

The enchanting story of a cursed Princess who can only be woken by true love’s kiss – with a fabulous pantomime twist.

This week has seen us finally complete the setting of all the dances and script ready to start our full run throughs over the coming weeks.

There are more than 20 musical numbers in the show, not to mention the hilarious dialogue, countless costumes and a few secrets we are keeping up our sleeves until after Christmas!

It’s been a lot of hard work so far and now things are coming together ready for the big opening on January 12.

Tickets are on sale now and we are advising that you need to book early to get the best seats.

Sleeping Beauty will be staged at The Atkinson Theatre in Southport from Thursday January 12 until Sunday January 22 and tickets are on sale now.
