Isaac gets off the sofa – and into shark tank
ATEN-YEAR-OLD boy from Ainsdale, who has launched his own YouTube Channel, will be swimming with sharks for his next adventure.
Isaac Powell, who is in Year 6 at St John’s School, Ainsdale, launched Off The Couch Adventures in November and has already completed a number of activities and posted about them on his page, with the aim of encouraging kids and “gamers” to get involved in outdoor activities.
Isaac is a cub scout and takes part in a number of outdoor activities with his family – and has even managed to climb one of the three peaks of Yorkshire, Ingleborough, twice.
Isaac’s most challenging and exciting vlogging opportunity will take place on Sunday, January 15, as he will be swimming with the sharks at Blue Planet Aquarium.
One lucky person has also won a ticket to the aquarium which was up for grabs on Isaac’s page.
After contacting Blue Planet Aquarium, Isaac was thrilled that they loved his page and offered him the chance of a diving lesson with the sharks, which he is going to film using a GoPro camera.
Isaac’s mum Aisha, said: “His little face lit up when I told him. He said do you think I’ll get to get in the cage or will I be near the sharks! He can’t wait to tell his friends.”
Isaac has recently visited Santa’s Enchanted Forest, based at Shorrocks Hill, in Formby, and has posted a video of the experience on his page.
He has also been in touch with Aerial Extreme, the Crocky Trail adventure playground, and is hoping to take part in new activities, such as learning how to bake – all in the cause of getting kids off the couch.
Aisha, a mum-of-two who is an operations manager at NHS Digital in Birkdale, added: “I cannot get over the positive reaction we have received so far. Isaac is throughly enjoying all the opportunities that have come his way.”
“Considering it’s a new venture and it’s only been going for a fewweeks, we’ve had a great reaction from businesses and we’re thrilled with how it’s going. We’re going to need an Off The Couch Adventure diary soon!”
Isaac posts video blogs on his Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with him taking part in a number of activites.
