Words inspire young entrepreneurs

-

A NEW series of children’s books that champion enterprise and innovation could help to create the next generation of entrepreneurs across Merseyside.

Clever Tykes children’s books introduce important life skills through positive, entrepreneurial role models for children aged six to nine.

Ben and Jodie Cook, creators of the Clever Tykes children’s storybooks, have secured a deal with Lloyds Banking Group that will see a copy of the series delivered to every primary school in the UK.

The storybooks inspire resourceful, innovative and enterprising behaviour and have generated interest from across the globe after their inclusion in a national government report, Enterprise for All.

They will now be enjoyed by millions of children in more than 23,000 schools.

The idea was inspired after Ben and Jodie, founders of JC Social Media, discovered the evidence between role models and entrepreneurial intention, but found too few positive role models for children.

The pair set about creating three stories that introduced important life skills and attitudes to children aged six to nine.

“It’s an incredibly exciting time for Clever Tykes and primary enterprise education,” co-founder Ben Cook commented. “We’ve seen the positive changes in children’s behaviour having read our stories and we’re delighted that thousands more will benefit.”

The national roll-out package includes the development of the UK’s first digital enterprise portal.

This will enable schools to download the books and will give them access to a raft of enterprise education resources which can be built into various areas of the curriculum.
