Flower show to take on a ‘curious’ theme

-

THIS year’s highly anticipated Southport Flower Show is set to be a celebration of all things mysterious.

It combines unique entertainment with live cooking demonstrations and innovative planting displays, to create the show’s 88th theme, ‘The Curious Garden’.

Inspired by a sense of secrecy, wonder and curiosity, the 2017 theme represents the garden as something to be discovered, explored and bewildered by.

Talking about the changes, Southport Flower Show general manager Ray Roukin said: “2017 marks a big year for the Southport Flower Show.

“The Curious Garden theme has been chosen as it allows us to build on some great existing aspects of the show, which we know our customers love, and reinvent them slightly. We’re also bringing in completely new elements to ensure the event is fresh and appeals to both our current audience and new imaginations.

“It’s an incredibly exciting time, as gardeners and exhibitors from the 2016 event now begin planning for their next appearance at the show.

“We’re confident the show, in this new format, will be our best to date.”

The show’s new theme is supported by an updated brand identify, including a modernised logo and marketing direction; which will see a focus on the family audience.

Celebrities and entertainment for the 2017 show have yet to be announced as the organisers continue to play on the curious theme.

The Southport Flower Show team have worked with Liverpool creative agency, Liquid to bring the Curious Garden theme to life.

This year’s Southport Flower Show takes place from Thursday, August 17 until Sunday, August 20.
