Shop owner speaks out over damage caused to his business by Frossell’s false claims

THE owner of a Southport mobility scooter shop has expressed his anger after a conman claimed to represent his company.

Paul Frossell was jailed for 12 months after being caught in a sting by a trio of pensioners who suspected him of being a rogue trader.

The 46-year-old was convicted after fradulentl­y selling mobility scooters for thousands of pounds through a series of elaborate scams.

He was convicted of fraud by magistrate­s last summer but immediatel­y appealed that conviction.

Last week, he denied claiming to represent Mobility World at Liverpool Crown Court, where his appeal was thrown out.

During the scams, Frossell showed a business card from the Mobility World shop in Cambridge Arcade.

He previously worked there but had left on bad terms in August 2015, before the time of his illegal activity.

The owner of Mobility World, Steve Hoskins, has told how Frossell’s victims had mistakenly believed that they had bought from the shop.

He said: “We have had customers come in and say ‘we’ve bought this from you,’ but they hadn’t done.”

“Mr Frossell left in August 2015 and we distanced ourselves entirely from him then.”
