IT’S TIME to nominate your NHS hero in the 2017 Pride Awards. Do you know a member of staff working at our local hospitals or community health services who deserves special recognitio­n?

Members of the public are being invited to nominate a member of staff at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust for an honour in the annual Pride Awards.

Iain McInnes, interim chief executive, said: “The People’s Choice Award is a fantastic way for patients and families to show their individual appreciati­on to a particular member of staff or team for the treatment or care they have received.”

Any member of staff, in any role, is eligible for a nomination, providing work for the trust.

The Pride Awards, now in their ninth year, are for hospital staff and teams or those working in community health services who deserve special recognitio­n for their excellence and profession­alism.

In addition to the People’s Choice Award, staff are invited to nominate their colleagues in a fur- ther six categories.

There are also special awards for outstandin­g achievemen­t and lifetime achievemen­t.

The award ceremony will take place at the Floral Hall, Southport Theatre and Convention Centre, on Friday, June 16.
