Stars play a Blinder down on the beach

HOLLYWOOD stars Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy have been spotted filming the latest series of Peaky Blinders on Formby beach.

Filming is taking place around the North West over the next few weeks and production crews were seen filming in Formby on Friday.

Multiple residents have now seen the crews on the beach, with some even witnessing Hollywood favourite Tom Hardy on set.

Murphy plays the lead role of Tommy Shelby in the 1920s-set BBC series, while Hardy is set to return to his part as Londoner Alfie Solomon.

Although the show is set in Birmingham, much of the filming takes place in Liverpool and the surrounding area.

News of the actors’ presence caused huge excitement on social media, with dozens of residents heading down to the beach to see the stars and take photos.

The new series of Peaky Blinders, which follows the Shelby family as they expand their empire across the country, was confirmed last autumn.
