Crosby close in on double with semi win

- BY JIM BOOTH SOUTHPORT AND DISTRICT TTL CUP & PLATE SEMIFINALS ANON CUP

Crosby A look favourites for the double now they have secured their final spot, after winning away at Argyle A. After levelling things up at 1-1, Argyle were never really given another glimpse of success, with Crosby winning the next five contests, sending them through 1-6.

Holy Trinity A will play Crosby A, after winning their semi away at Waddington A. A great battle between Darren Taylor and Mal Kent was the highlight. After losing the first 10-12 game, Darren hit back to take three of the next four, all of which ended 11-7. This made the score 2-3, but Waddington’s night was done, with wins from Colin Mitchell, Brian Crolley and a doubles success. Final score 3-6 Holy Trinity.
