THE Visiter can exclusively reveal that Jason Manford will headline the Southport Comedy Festival 2017. The Mancunian comedian, presenter and actor will play the final two nights of the festival. Appearances on Sunday Night At The Palladium (ITV1), Live At The Apollo (BBC One), Have I Got News For You, (BBC One), QI (BBC Two) and The Royal Variety Performance (ITV1) have all helped establish Jason as a nationally-known performer. Festival organiser Brendan Riley said: “Just when we thought the line-up for this year’s festival couldn’t get any better! “We are very pleased to finally be able to announce that Jason Manford will play the final two nights of the festival on Saturday and Sunday, October 21 and 22.

“This will be a ‘work in progress’ show ahead of Jason’s national tour in 2018 where he will play to much larger houses.

“It promises to feature a wealth of comedy anecdotes, misunderstandings and audience banter, delivered with Jason’s likeable charm and teasingly intelligent wit.”

Southport Comedy Festival is back and bigger than ever for 2017

Tickets go on sale at 10am this Friday (April 7) and cost £15 each.

Jason will be added to a line-up of big names for this year’s Southport Comedy Festival, with Jason Byrne, Tom Stade, Robin Ince and Gary Delaney already on sale and more great names and events to be announced.

Southport Comedy Festival 2017 will also feature a children’s comedy festival – which will be free of charge for youngsters; a new comedian competition sponsored by Nando’s; a comedy showcase for Community Link Foundation; comedy pub crawls and more.
