Drinks on the menu at cafe in the gardens
APOPULAR Southport cafe has announced that it will now serve ice cold prosecco – just in time for the warmer months.
Town Gardens Cafe in Lord Street is run by Natalie Jamieson-Morrison and until now has only served a range of hot and soft drinks to accompany its food menu.
Na t a l i e said that the decision to sell prosecco, beer, wines and ciders is something the team had considered for a while.
She said: “We’ve toyed with selling alcohol for many years but have noticed that the market is changing and it’s what our customers want.
“We also are looking at attracting a younger clientele – and we have to take advantage of having one of the best spots in Southport to sit in the sun and enjoy a cold one.”
The new additions to the menu mean that Town Gardens Cafe joins a host of new drinking establishments in Southport.
The town’s nightlife has been transformed with a new Northern Quarter at the north section of Lord Street, bringing customers flocking.
Just a few years ago, the area south of Nevill Street wou ld become quiet after the shops had closed at 5pm. But since then, millions of pounds have been invested to create new businesses to make the area thrive.
As well as the newly refurbished Bold Hotel, and new Irish bar Punch Tarmey’s, Peaky Blinders, Corridor Bar and Remedy are also a stone’s throw from Town Gardens Cafe.
And further down the road, there is the Inn Beer Shop and Deli Volare – meaning that there is a new route for a Lord Street pub crawl.
To promote the new drinks menu, Town Gardens Cafe is running some social media competitions and offers.
