PEOPLE partied like the ’80s at the latest Rubix night in Southport. The night at the Fleetwood Hesketh Sports & Social Club on Saturday, May 13 was organised by local DJs Danny Bee and Steve Mitchell, who run designer-parties.com Partygoers went to town with some amazing fancy dress outfits for an event that has fast gained a cult following. It was started a couple of years ago by Danny and Steve as they aimed to take people back to the glory days of nights out at classic venues such as The Kingsway, Palm Court and Manhattans.
Steve said: “Saturday was amazing, in my opinion the best one yet.
“We gave some bar vouchers away for best dressed which the Rubix man won! We had a couple of games of play your cards right again for bar vouchers, that was a good laugh. We had caterers outside who did really well. The dance floor was seriously full from 8pm through until finish.
“All in all it was a great night with a fantastic crowd.”
No date has yet been set for the next night, but Danny and Steve have been booked for a couple of Rubix ’80s themed weddings next year.
