Our leap of faith was inspired by my Chris
ONE brave woman and her best friend will take on a charity sky dive in memory of her boyfriend who died of cardiac arrest at just 28.
Chris Tansey, from Crosby, died two years ago and now his girlfriend Stacey Fielding, 31, will be jumping out of a plane to raise money in his memory.
Spa receptionist Stacey and her friend Kate will be raising money for the James Bulger Memorial Trust and Vital Signs Foundation - a heart screening charity founded in memory of Chris Haw from Southport, who died of heart failure.
The Haw family, alongside friend Mark Cunningham, founded the Vital Signs Foundation (VSF) with the aim of delivering community-based free heart screenings across Merseyside and the North West for young people aged 15-35 and detecting undiagnosed heart conditions.
Stacey told the Visiter: “Losing Chris has been the most heartbreaking thing to have happened to me, but I can only thank him for giving me all my strength I have gained this past two years. It has only changed me for the better.
“Chris’ positive outlook on life has rubbed off on us all, he has given us a new outlook.”
Last year Stacey climbed Snowdon on the anniversary of Chris’ death, raising £5,600.
Stacey and Kate are hoping to raise £1,000 for the James Bulger Memorial Trust before opening their Vital Signs Foundation donations page.
The girls have also set up a competition page with amazing prizes including a pair of Creamfields camping tickets, gift vouchers for MOMO boutique in Southport and brunch for two at a Liverpool restaurant.
