Comic Hall ‘grouches’ into town

THE Visiter can exclusively reveal US comedy sensation Rich Hall is coming to sunny Southport this autumn.

The grouchy cowboy comic – all the way from Montana – is not just a top class comedian but a talented entertainer. And there’s never been a better time to see him live.

Rich is bringing his critically acclaimed Hoedown tour to the town in October, as part of the Southport Comedy Festival 2017.

Festival organiser – and comedian in his own right – Brendan Riley told us: “We’re delighted to announce that Rich Hall is performing at the beautiful Southport Little Theatre.

“We’ve been trying to book Rich since we took over the festival seven years ago!

“Thanks to ongoing support from Southport Business Improvement District, and teaming up with phenomenal venues such as the Little Theatre, we’re now able to attract acts like him, and we’re beyond excited he has agreed to come and perform.”

The Guardian says the Hoedown begins as a withering dissection of Trump’s America, but ends up being a celebration of Americana, while Scotland on Sunday says Hall’s precision dismantling of the tenuous rela- tionship between two countries as freewheeling and deadly accurate as ever.

Tickets for Rich’s show, which takes place at the Little Theatre on Hoghton Street on October 15, went on sale yesterday (Wednesday) at 10am.

Southport Comedy Festival 2017 runs from October 5-22.

Rich Hall is the latest addition to a line-up of big names including Jason Manford, Jason Byrne, Tom Stade and Gary Delaney already on sale and there are more events to be announced.
