Classic Hairspray the open air movie
THE Open Air cinema is returning to Southport this weekend.
The event will be held at Kings Gardens on Saturday, July 21.
The film being screened will be the original 1988 Hairspray, starring Divine and Debbie Harry, which is scheduled to begin at “dusk time”.
Organisers of the event have reminded filmgoers that it gets cold by the Marine Lake, so people should bring a jacket or a coat, as well as something to sit on.
Guests are also entitled to bring their own picnic, but food and drink will be available on site if that is preferred.
Organisers also advise anyone planning to attend to get there within a reasonable amount of time to secure a place and settle down before the film begins.
The event is run by volunteers and organisers say that a donation of £2 per person will enable events like this to continue.
