Port throw Open doors to supporters

AHEAD of their opening home friendly against Blackpool on Saturday, Southport hosted a family fun day at the Merseyrail Community Stadium.

Youngsters were invited onto the pitch to take part in penalty shoot-out competitio­ns and a keepie-up challenge.

Supporters also got involved with games of Fifa 17, while there were activities such as face painting and a bouncy castle.

The first-team players also took part with the pre-match activities as the club opened its doors ahead of the new season.

On Thursday, the club held a meet the manager event and Q&A session with the board. Supporters were able to speak to the club board, as well as the new management of team of Alan Lewer, Mark Wright, the Head of Developmen­t, and assistant John Durnin.

Southport’s Vanarama National League North season starts on Saturday August 5 at home to Boston United at 3pm.

Season tickets remain on sale at the excellent value prices of adults £150 (main stand), £135 (terraces), and concession­s £110 (main stand), £100 (terraces), offering the equivalent of 11 matches for free.

Youngsters aged 12 - 18 can watch the season for just £50 and primary school children are admitted for free.

Season tickets are available from the club on weekdays between 10am and 2.30pm and online on southportf­c.net.
