TINY stars shone brightly at babyballet’s recent Starmakers show. More than 100 tots from Southport, Formby and Crosby – with the average age of three – wowed the audience with a pantomime style performance.

The show at Banks Leisure Centre included all the babyballet favourite characters: Twinkle and Teddy the bears, Flutterstar the fairy, Chuck the cowboy and Grandad Jack the King of the Castle in the Sky.

Every child went on the stage, danced, sang and had fun!

Miss Jennifer, the principal at babyballet Southport, Formby and Crosby, said “The teachers and I are all bursting with pride.

“The children were all fantastic, both on and off stage. To see their enchanted faces watching the characters and then their big beaming smiles as they skip onto the stage was incredibly rewarding. They have all grown in confidence and we really are so proud of each and every one of them.”

The sale of programmes at the show raised £234. for the charity Different Strokes.

And proud mums shared their memories of the event.

Kelsie Leigh said “Very sad it’s Alexies last show.

“However she has had the best two years performing with all her friends and teachers alike.

“Thank you for giving the little stars such a fantastic opportunity to shine so brightly on stage.”

Gemma Wearing said: “You all did a fab job both on the day and in preparing them for the show.

“Can’t believe it’s the end of Jenny’s babyballet journey. Good job we have Nancy to pass the tutu on to!

“Thank you to Miss Kathrine and Miss Heidi for such amazing teaching and encouragement across the years”

And Leanne Carson said: “What a fab show. I’m still in utter disbelief that my little lady got up there. Very proud mummy.”
