THE fourth annual Fizz and Chips event was a huge success. The garden party was held to raise money for the Community Link Foundation, a charity which supports good causes across Southport and West Lancashire.

The Community Link Foundation (CLF) is a charity that aims to assist anyone in Southport and surrounding areas who need financial support in the form of a variety of ways.

Organised by Stephen and Kerry Hennessy, of Dr Hennessy Cosmetic Clinic, the day raised £1,800 for the CLF in total.

The event was held at the Hennessy home in Birkdale on Sunday, September 3.

Approximately 130 guests attended the event, and 130 portions of fish and chips were donated and delivered by The Swan chippy in Southport for the cause.

Kerry Hennessy said: “The donation from The Swan was great – they donated and delivered the food hot – and individually wrapped.

“The guests really enjoyed it, it was delicious.”

Each person paid £40 for a ticket, which gave them entry to the event, a meal of fish and chips, entertainment and free alcoholic drinks.

As always, the Groovy Revolu- tion band was performing – but there was also a surprise for this year’s guests.

Stephen had arranged for Britain’s Got Talent stars Boogie Storm to make an appearance – much to the guests’ delight.

It was unfortunate, however, that for the first year since the event began there was rain – but this didn’t dampen the spirits of the guests because they managed to find shelter under the marquees.

Kerry said: “It was a brilliant event, and the guests really enjoyed themselves.

“We are really happy we managed to raise £1,800 for a good local cause, and we will definitely be turning next year for our fifth year.”
