Nicky’s cheeky calendar in aid of families
AFORMER Southport pub landlady has encouraged customers to strip for a charity calendar.
Nicky Hargreaves, 42, who used to run The Koronet and The Imperial, in Southport, took inspiration from the film Calendar Girls.
She now runs the Black Swan pub in Leek, Staffs and, after persuasion from Nicky, most of the pub’s loyal customers stripped off for what she described as “tasteful pictures”.
Nicky, who has been running pubs for 25 years, managed to keep her clothes on in the calendar, though, as she poses as Ms January.
She chose to be someone who is trying to escape from behind bars.
The 42-year-old from High Park said: “One of my most popular expressions is ‘ behave yourself or you’re barred’ so in the calendar I have now barred myself.”
Money raised from calendar sales will help to support the families of the 22 victims who were killed in the Manchester Arena terrorist attack earlier this year.
Nicky said: “We were very moved b by what happened with the Manchester attacks, we wanted to do something to help.
“We decided to do something fun, p positive and very tongue-in-cheek to h help the cause.”
Most of Nicky’s family still live in Southport, and she established many l loyal customers here, and she hopes t that they will show their support by p purchasing a calendar for the good cause.
Ncky, who created the calendar with help from her partner, Glen Traynor, 44, added: “If anyone in Southport wants a calendar for next y year and wants to support a great cause, they should get in touch with m me.”
Calendars are available for £10 each and since they launched on Saturday, September 23, have so far raised more than £500.
