WITH Hallowe’en just around the corner, it is only a matter of time before you’ll find yourself carving pumpkins.

Whether you like to carve cute characters, scary faces, or eat the contents - wouldn’t it be fun if you could choose it yourself?

This year, instead of going to a supermarket to purchase your pumpkin, why not put on your sensible shoes and warm clothes, and head down to a pumpkin patch to select one for yourself?

Picking them can provide entertainment for the whole family, not to mention the fun children will have while carving.

So, we have compiled a list of the venues in Southport and West Lancashire where you can pick your own pumpkin: POPLAR FARM THIS roadside patch is now open from 10am to 5pm daily.

Grab a wheelbarrow and explore the patch for your perfect pumpkin.

You can choose any pumpkin, of any size, for £4 or three for £10. Don’t forget to wear sensible footwear.

Last year, the farm grew a whopping 70,000 pumpkins and this year they had another two huge fields full of pumpkins.
