APOPULAR Southport restaurant is now under new ownership.

The Clay Cow, formerly The Bar & Burger Co., on Ocean Plaza, has been purchased by a local couple

Ken and Helen Kilshaw took over the business three weeks ago, and have huge plans for the venue.

Speaking of the changes planned, Helen said: “We have already changed the decor, and instead of citrus orange and lime green, the venue now looks much more homely with greys and maroons.

“But the main changes we want to make are to the menu, we can guarantee that all the food we sell is handmade and fresh to order.”

Whilst the venue was previously known for its burgers, the new owners are keen to add more to the menu of their family business.

Helen added: “We still sell a range of burgers, just not as many.

“We are keen to add a range of wholesome, nutritious food to the menu, and we want to introduce light bites and omelettes as well.”

Additionally, the pair are hoping to organise a live entertainment night each month.

An 80s night will be held on October 27, which will involve live entertainment from Blue Indigo – an impressive duo.

Helen is encouraging customers to come dressed in 80s-themed outfits, and customers to the free event can get a two-course meal for just £24.95 and a bottle of wine for just £10.

The pair hope this will be the first entertainment night of many, with various additional events leading up to Christmas.
